A couple months back, tamara_russo went to a rock concert. She took an awful lot of photos. It took me a while, but eventually I worked my way through them.

As has become tradition, i've spent the Atonement Day at tamara_russo's. As this year the holiday fell on a weekend, this totalled three days - and two photo sets. You can find the original, full-sized photos here, at her DW.

Of the first set, Gift Wrapped, we have seven icons; of the second, Birds of Paradise, we have six. These thirteen icons are under the cut; above the cut we have two samplers of each set.

Solstice Sunrise: eight icons

We've had the summer solstice at this half of the globe this past week, and there's a nice little hill behind the house I live at. If you think this means that tamara_russo and I got up at 05:00 last Monday, you're right.

Words Set

I am very proud to present this set. Out of 27 icons in this post, the majority (#8-#27) have been made from photos taken specifically for this purpose.

These are all icons of words; or, more accurately, of photos of words. The majority are Dickinson (#7-#14) and Shakespeare (#15-#25), though we also have a bunch of Tori Amos (#1-#3) and a Tennyson (#6). You may notice there's a missing number in there; #5 is of a very well known Israeli children's book, Dira LeHaskir.

There's a different set in the works, using also photos taken specifically for iconing, but that one's taking time and we did a couple of photo shoots last week.

Tel Aviv and Light

Israeli light is bright, bringing out the colours that Israel is so rich with, but it's harsh on the eyes and harsher on photography; Tel Aviv in its never-halting kaleidoscopic riot of life is a frequent subject of tamara_russo's photogrpahy.

These are the topics of this set of icons. Light and colours were accentuated, and each had been conceived as a story in a capsule.
